I would like to extend my thanks to all who participated in the 2018 Conquer the Canuck as well as all those who contributed by sponsoring, volunteering and sharing our event with fellow runners and friends. I am excited to confirm the dates for the 2019 “Conquer The Canuck Marathon Ultra Trail Weekend”. It is scheduled to take place on Saturday June 8th and Sunday June 9th, at Shade’s Mills Conservation, in Cambridge Ontario.
Shade's Mills has been called the best-kept secret in Cambridge. Favourite activities in this day-use area include swimming, sport fishing and canoeing. The conservation area has 12 km of hiking trails through a mature hardwood forest that winds along Mill Creek. There is good fishing for northern pike, perch, largemouth and smallmouth bass in the 32-hectare (80 acre) reservoir behind Shade's Mills dam. It is open for cross country skiing, snow shoeing and ice fishing during the winter.
We are excited to announce that we have been awarded the Canadian 12 hour trail championship by the Association of Canadian Ultra Runners, for 2019. Complete details on this event can be found under the general info pull down.
Five races will occur on Saturday June 8th with a maximun of 425 participants, 8.33 km at 100, 25 km at 100, 50 km at 75, Ultimate Canuck at 75 and 12 hour at 75. The two events on Sunday June 9th will have a maximum of 150 participants with the Ultimate Canuck stage two at 75 and the marathon only at 75 participants.
We are actively working on the website, with respect to the 2019 highlights, so please be sure to check in often to keep in touch with all current updates. Official registration will open for this event on Monday October 1, 2018. Please note, this event is capped with a maximum of 500 participants in all 6 events combined over the run weekend.
