NOTICE: Due to poor trail conditions at Shades Mills, the run scheduled for this Saturday April 21st, has been moved to Sunday April 29th, for a 10 am start.

The calm running water of the Mill Creek, as it flows through the rivers at Shades Mills Conservation, awaits your presence on April 29, as we prepare for one of the best Conquer the Canuck course intro runs and the best part is that it is free to participate. The only cost is the entry to the Conservation area ($7.00 per adult and $3.00 fee per child). It is also a great opportunity to bring the family, enjoy the conservation area, perhaps have a little picnic, enjoy the day and cheer on our trail running family as they play on the trails, at Shades Mills.

We will be providing a complimentary aid station with water, electrolyte, coke, fruit, and cookies to all runners. Please assemble at the Toyota Centre. The run will start at the official start/finish area as last year. It is located approximately 100 meters down the bank from the Toyota Nature Centre.

The course intro run will start at 9 am sharp and the main gate will be staffed by GRCA employees at 8 am. There is no cost to those who have an active GRCA  membership. The course will be flagged with a new flagging system, like Grand Prix racing (you will have to come to see).  Three draw prizes at 10 am.

If possible please bring the exact change as you arrive at the gate. This would be greatly appreciated by the conservation staff and will also help to keep vehicles moving quickly through the gate.

The main washrooms will be open at 8 am. They are located approximately 200 meters from the start/finish area near the Toyota Nature Center.

The next training run at Shades Mills is scheduled for Saturday May 19th and is self assisted with regular flagging.

Follow directional signs to the Toyota Nature Centre, as you enter the property.

To ensure that we have an amply stocked aid station, please RSVP at conquerthecanuck@gmail.com if you plan on attending.

Happy trails,

Tony
