3 Hour Training Run - 9 am til 12 noon

​On Saturday May 13th, come and check out the venue for the upcoming Conquer the Canuck Marathon Ultra Trail Weekend at Shades Mills Conservation in Cambridge. We will be running the 8.33 km loop that will be used on race day! Runners training for longer races may choose to run longer than 12 noon. Flags and aid station will be removed after 12 noon.

We have altered the course for this event slightly from last year and have added a new section we like to call "the jewel" located just past the 4.5 km mark.  We have also adjusted the finish section of the loop so that all of our spectators have a better view of the participants as they approach the start/finish on each loop.  This will reduce congestion near the beach area.

The course map is available online under the Course Map page, under the Course Features section and additional copies will be available at the start.
Course will be marked for each km marking and have flags on all turns. Our complimentary aid station will have coke, bottled water, bananas and cookies. We will also have two draw prizes at the beginning of the run for a one year subscription to Trail Runner Magazine. One draw will be for the group in attendance for the training run and the second draw for a one year subscription to Trail Runner Magazine, will be for all participants currently registered for any of the CTC races.

Entrance to the Conservation area, is between 8-9 am, and is $5 per adult and $3 per child (pay at gate as you enter). Please indicate you are here for the training run to get this lower rate. Those wishing to order a smoothie, please bring an additional $5 to be collected, by me, at the Toyota Nature Centre. The smoothies are 16 oz and made fresh by our local sponsor ReJive Replenish Station.  They are located just 5 minutes away at the LA Fitness. All smoothies will be delivered at 11 am sharp.

Runners must RSVP, in advance, by email to conquerthecanuck@gmail.com and indicate their choice of smoothie by no later than 6pm on Friday May 12th, as this will be a great help in the planning for this training run.
