Canada Day 1 - 3 Hour Training Run - Shades Mills Conservation, Cambridge
All runners and walkers are welcome to join us on Saturday July 1st, at Shades Mills Conservation, from 9am til 12 noon.
There is no official fee for this event, There is a discounted rate to enter the Conservation area, of $5.00 at the gate for adults and $3.00 for children. The gate opens at 8 am. It would be appreciated if you could try to have the exact change, to help speed up the line at the gate house. This amount is paid directly to the Conservation staff as you enter. Let staff know that you are attending the CTC Canada Day Fun Run to get the discounted rate, otherwise, you will have to pay $6.50 each.
We will be running the 8.33 km CTC loop, and runners may choose to run longer than 12 noon. Flags, directional signs and aid station will be removed after 1pm.
The course map is available online under the Course Map page, under the Course Features section and additional copies will be available at the start.
The course will be flagged on all turns and directional signs in key locations. Our complimentary aid station will have icy cold bottled water, gatorade, coke, bananas, candy, pretzels and cookies. There will also be 3 draw prizes just before the start at 9am. Washrooms open at 8 am in the main bldg located 200 meters from the start of the training run (Toyota Centre).This training run only has one aid station. I encouraged all to carry a water bottle and bring deep woods spray to be on the safe side.
I will be flagging the course at 8 am and running til 2pm. Runners wanting to join in for a super long run are welcomed to do so. but the official start time is 9:00 am at the Toyota Nature Centre. Follow arrows to Toyota Centre.
* Please RSVP no later then 6 pm on Friday. This will greatly help us with the planning for the aid station.
